| The CGM® oxyfuel technology was developed to meet the glass manufacturers needs to increase the pull rate, improve product quality and, in some instances, extend furnace life (to combat or prevent regenerator plugging).
CGM® employs specially designed vertically mounted oxyfuel burners. This results in extremely high temperatures in the proximity of the bath surface, which leads to a substantially higher heat transfer to the glass melt.
The patent protected CGM® solution has been installed in more than 30 furnaces in the flat, float and container glass industries. The results include reduced fuel consumption, increased pull rate, decreased emissions, improved quality, and extended furnace life.
Dependent on glass chemistry, the actual results from installations could be up to 70% increased melting capacity. |
