New public hydrogen filling station in Baden-Württemberg
On the site of the OMV service station at Stuttgart Airport, OMV in cooperation with Linde AG and Daimler AG is opening Baden-Württemberg's first publicly accessible hydrogen filling station on 17 June 2009. This successful cooperation between the participating companies is subsidised by the State of Baden-Württemberg. The project is centred on the use of hydrogen as an environmentally friendly energy carrier. Hydrogen filling stations represent an important step toward reducing dependence on fossil fuels in the long term and are a step closer to emission-free sustainable mobility. The innovative hydrogen filling station will serve fuel-cell vehicles of the latest generation, such as the Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-CELL, with 700-bar high-pressure technology. Small-series production of this vehicle is to commence later this year in Germany. more

The Linde Group develops sustainable hydrogen production process
The technology group The Linde Group is developing an innovative process for the sustainable production of hydrogen from biogenic raw materials. Hydromotive GmbH, a subsidiary of The Linde Group, is to build a demonstration plant from mid-2009 at the chemical site in Leuna, Germany, which will produce hydrogen from glycerine. The feedstock glycerine is a by-product of biodiesel production and further processing of glycerine therefore makes good sense. more

The Linde Group to supply gases to Masdar PV's photovoltaic plant in Erfurt
Munich, 30 March 2009 - The technology group The Linde Group has been awarded a long-term contract to supply all the gases for next-generation thin-film photovoltaic (PV) module production at Masdar's manufacturing site in Erfurt, Germany. Under the turnkey contract, Linde will provide a complete gas storage and distribution system, as well as on-site gas management services. Linde will also supply nitrogen (N2), hydrogen (H2), silane (SiH4) and chamber cleaning gases, as well as argon (Ar) and helium (He). more

The Linde Group expands gases supply for BorsodChem in Hungary
The technology group The Linde Group has signed a further long-term .on-site supply contract for industrial gases with the Hungarian chemical company BorsodChem Zrt. The agreement involves the construction of a new air separation unit (ASU) at BorsodChem’s Kacinzbarcika site in north-eastern Hungary for around EUR 26 million. more
