| The roots of UTAB date back to 1882. Today’s UTAB is the result of several mergers of furnace engineering and manufacturing companies. Throughout the years, those companies have delivered more than 40,000 furnaces all over the world.
Since 2005 UTAB is a part of The Linde Group. The expertise in furnace engineering and construction has been merged with Linde leading skills in oxyfuel combustion - since 1990 pioneering the use in steel reheating. As a result, UTAB is today the world’s primary supplier of oxyfuel installations in reheating and annealing.
Within Linde, UTAB is responsible for sales of the REBOX® solutions portfolio, including implementation and guarantees. The scope often goes beyond the combustion system. As examples could be mentioned large revamping projects as the “KBR” at Outokumpu's Avesta Works and new annealing furnaces for POSCO and Dongbei Special Steel Group.
