| Direct Flame Impingement (DFI) oxyfuel for a powerful and compact capacity boost.
DFI oxyfuel boosts capacity at ThyssenKrupp Steel, Germany. Capacity is up by 30%
both in a Galvanizing line at the Finnentrop works and a Galvanizing and Aluminizing line in
Bruckhausen. In an Annealing & Pickling line at Outokumpu, Nyby, Sweden, the capacity
increased 50%. All installations were without extending the furnace length.

Linde has integrated the patented DFI oxyfuel solution into a compact solution. It is well suited to retrofitting existing furnaces in need of higher production throughput but lacking additional space for a longer furnace.
- DFI oxyfuel for drastically higher heat transfer
- Compact and powerful DFI unit for easy retrofit
- Possible to modify surface conditions
The Direct Flame Impingement technology, where an oyxfuel flame directly heats a moving metal strip, has proved to be the most effective way to increase heat flux of up to 800-1000 kW/m2.

The drawing above shows two DFI oxyfuel burner row sets heating directly onto a metal strip. |
