| Hyways is an integrated project funded under the sixth framework-program of the European Commission to develop the European Hydrogen Energy Roadmap.
The roadmap will comprise a comparative analysis of regional supply options and energy scenarios, including renewable energies.
Technical, socio-economic and emission challenges as well as impacts of realistic hydrogen supply paths under consideration of technological and economical needs will be analysed. Though an initial emphasis will be pathways to a hydrogen infrastructure for transport fuel, synergies for stationary and portable end-use will also be considered.
In Phase I (18 months) the members France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway and the Netherlands will be represented to develop and validate the “toolbox” for the further procedure of the project.
In Phase II this model will be applied and the analyses carried out by the partners, extended by 5 – 7 further member states as active partners.
The main targets of HYways are:
- A European Hydrogen Energy Roadmap
- Recommendations for lobbies on realistic options for the regional implementation of a hydrogen energy infrastructure
The targeted time frame for hydrogen energy plans a transition period until 2020, with the view on an established hydrogen energy infrastructure by 2050. This will then be based on the storage of renewable energy.
As an active partner of this project Linde contributes its experience in all relevant aspects such as production, storage, logistics and filling. |
